About Nayana Sujith
Nayana Sujith is a graduate of Pearl River High School in New York. She began learning Bharatanatyam at the age of six, after being introduced to the artform by her mother. She continued her training under the tutelage of Guru Smt. Suba Ramesh Parmar and Guru Shri Swamamalai K. Suresh for several years. Under the guidance of her Gurus, Nayana strengthened her knowledge of Bharathanatyam and has participated in several performances and competitions, including the Cleveland Aradhana International Festival. Fueled by her passion for dance, Nayana was accepted into the Indianraga Fellowship and was able to lead her first production this past year. Aside from classical dance, Nayana has been learning and performing Carnatic music from the age of nine. In school, Nayana is a member of the Rotary Club, Science Olympiad, and is a violinist in her school’s Contemporary Strings ensemble. She has been playing tennis since middle school, and became the captain of her school’s varsity tennis team during her senior year. Nayana has been a high honor roll student throughout her academic years in school, graduating within the top five percent of her senior class. She volunteers at the local ambulance youth core and is an active member of the Youth for Climate Action program sponsored by Cornell Cooperative Extension.
